This time next week i’ll be in iceland! ahhh!
I’M SO EXCITED. But…
…I still need to pack. I’m stressin’. Wow Airlines only allows passengers ONE carry on…no personal item. What’s a gal supposed to do without a handbag?! Eek.
Packing for 3 weeks with one carry on is an impressive feat. Luckily all the places I’ll be staying have laundry facilities soooo that’s a plus. I’ve already told everyone that no souvenirs will be bought; y’all are getting postcards, which in my opinion, are SO much better. I’ll take a postcard over a tchotchke (think: chotchsky) any day. #snailmailforever
I’ve been trolling the Iceland and Reykjavik tags on WordPress/Instagram and I’m just getting progressively more excited.
Also, have you noticed EVERYONE has been/is going there?! A woman in my temp office just booked a trip to Iceland for next year and when I went to the bank to pick up some Icelandic currency the banker was like, ‘oh I just went there with my buddy a few months ago.’

Have you been to Iceland? Any recommendations?! Let me know!
Here’s my list so far:
Blue Lagoon
Golden Circle Tour
Hallgrímskirkja Church
Northern Lights (fingers crossed!)
Icelandic Phallological Museum (yes. this is a thing.)
Baejarins Beztu Pylsur hot dogs (because…Bill Clinton)
Hope y’all are having a great year so far!
Spread kindness and cheer, xo

Very cool. Heading there myself the end of August for a week.
After being there, what in your opinion are the “must see” spots around Reykjavik?

I’m jealous. We were there in September and I didn’t want to leave. Did the southern tourist spots but my favourite thing was just walking the streets of Reykjavik…such an amazing atmosphere!

Update: the airport is super modern and small – the bathrooms are fab and clean too! Easy to navigate, even if you know zero words in the native tongue.

I’m excited for you, it’s an amazing place 😊 You can download the Appyhour app to avail of cheap drinks, there’s loads of lovely little bars and quirky art galleries. Haha and good choice putting the Phallological museum on your to do list, it is actually pretty interesting as well as being a laugh! You’ll have a great time, best wishes 😊

We went a few years ago. We visited the Blue Lagoon, Baejarins Beztu Pylsur hot dogs (get all the toppings), the Hallgrímskirkja Church and the Golden Circle sights. The thing that I would add would be the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and a glacier tour while you’re out that far. I don’t know if you can do it as a long day trip or an overnight. We did that and loved it. If you do it, don’t miss going across the street from the lagoon there is a black sand beach with huge chunks of ice washed up on the beach. You’ll have a great time. Cheers
