I’ve been blogging for two years now and have “met” a variety of incredible people along the way. I find fellow bloggers by following certain tags on WordPress like travel and adventure to see what others are up to around the world.
Portland, OR, is a wonderful city with superb donuts. While most have heard of Voodoo Doughnut (a quirky doughnut shop based in Portland), y’all may not know about Blue Star Donuts. I took a train from Seattle to Portland and made a beeline to Voodoo, luggage and all. Hopped in an Uber afterwards and when the driver saw me with my box of Voodoo deliciousness he goes, “You know it’s funny. Voodoo doughnuts always has a line and everything but they’re not even the best doughnuts in Portland. Blue Star is where it’s at.” Oh okay then…
…So I tried both. And both places were delicious.
And I can’t choose a favorite.
If you’re ever in Portland, try both and you shall not be disappointed.
HUGS AND KISSES TO PORTLAND. KEEP ON BEING WEIRD AND AWESOME!
Ever find yourself with a dirty car and a donut craving? Well if you happen to end up on 12 Ave. I’ve found the perfect place! Helllloooo Underwest Donuts!
Because this clearly looks like the interior of a place where you’ll find the best donuts ever….
BUT IT IS! This hidden gem, located literally in a car wash, is just steps away from the USS Intrepid. I ventured over with my freshly made maple waffle donut, snapped this insta-worthy pic and devoured said donut seconds after.
This is no Dunkin/Krispy Kreme/Tim Horton’s donut folks. I mean sure those are fine in a fit of donut desperation… but an Underwest Donut is a cake-like, melt-in-your-mouth, wonderful concoction that everyone needs to try.
Spread kindness and cheer, xo
