If Everything Was Opposite

If Everything Was Opposite

Humans bark. Dogs talk.

Love is hate and war is great.

What if everything was opposite?

If lemons were limes, currency was time and “oh yeah, I’m fine” actually meant just that…

If fast was slow, red meant go and summers brought snow,

Would there be anything we couldn’t know?

And if little was large, the good were in charge and darkness was bright,

If talking meant singing, walking meant skipping and laughter was sad,

Would cookies be healthy, would poor men be wealthy and would you never be mad?

If the world embraced all, nothing could fall and Autumn would surely be Spring,

Then the Earth would be still, my heart meant to kill,

And everyone would have

But everything is nothing either way, if unicorns lived and years were a day,

Because, oh-

Don’t you see?

Don’t you see?

You are not you and I am not me,

If everything is opposite.
