It’s now just 13 days till I turn 26…eek!
How did I get to the point in my life where I’m closer to 30 than my teen years?!
Eh, I guess leaving behind those awkward teenage years isn’t so bad…
Happy Tuesday, y’all! Good news: I got a job! Woooooo!
After spending this past year alternating between temping and traveling around, I’m happy to have found a job in a creative environment in the city I love most: New York. Though I’ve had real jobs working at ABC and NBC in the past, this really feels like my first REAL job. I’ve never had a salary or benefits or any of that good stuff; broadcast news was always technically freelance and hourly…no bueno.
Oh, and another amazingly awesome perk of this job? UNLIMITED VACATION! Obviously not to be abused, but at least I can count on getting my fair share of traveling time in! Yayayyayay!
More fun news for today – I’ve been asked to write for a site called Tiplr. For all you adventure seekers and foodies, it’s a great site to get tips from locals in various cities around the world. Check out my first post — here.
That’s all for today folks –
Spread kindness and cheer, xo

Portland, OR, is a wonderful city with superb donuts. While most have heard of Voodoo Doughnut (a quirky doughnut shop based in Portland), y’all may not know about Blue Star Donuts. I took a train from Seattle to Portland and made a beeline to Voodoo, luggage and all. Hopped in an Uber afterwards and when the driver saw me with my box of Voodoo deliciousness he goes, “You know it’s funny. Voodoo doughnuts always has a line and everything but they’re not even the best doughnuts in Portland. Blue Star is where it’s at.” Oh okay then…
…So I tried both. And both places were delicious.
And I can’t choose a favorite.
If you’re ever in Portland, try both and you shall not be disappointed.
HUGS AND KISSES TO PORTLAND. KEEP ON BEING WEIRD AND AWESOME!
