Sunday Inspiration

Sunday Inspiration

Happy Sunday, y’all! The sun is finally BACK in NY on this Mother’s Day…it’s been grey and dreary all week. In addition to celebrating my mom today, I’m taking time to do some spring cleaning and some writing.

Now that I’m back in the working world and commuting every day, I’ve taken less time to write – both here on my blog and in my personal journal. Eek, no good! I miss it. But, I’m happy to say, I genuinely love my job. I’m not dreading work tomorrow – I’m looking forward to it!

Also, life has been so wonderful since quitting Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram. My boyfriend even decided to ditch Facebook the other day (he never snapped or insta’ed to begin with). Yay for social media not ruling our lives!

Enjoy your family and friends and all of the little things you love – life is short folks!

Two Truths and a Lie

Two Truths and a Lie

I cannot believe it’s already May. I feel like I say this every year with each passing month, but seriously time seems to be flying! Three months ago today I was off to Iceland of all places! Now, I’m back working in NYC and I’m actually loving my job. Like…I’m not dreading going back to work tomorrow. It’s truly a beautiful thing haha-

Anyways, one of my first “assignments” at work was to come up with two truths and a lie…you see, each Thursday the company introduces new hires to the office and every new hire has to say two truths and a lie.

When it was my turn I said:

  1. Last summer I hitchhiked around Canada.
  2. Though I’m a native New Yorker, my true dream is to open a senior pet sanctuary on a farm somewhere.
  3. Both of my parents have a twin, but I’m an only child.

If you’ve read my blog enough, I’m sure you know the lie — but if not, take a guess in the comments below!

Working Gal

Working Gal

Happy Tuesday, y’all! Good news: I got a job! Woooooo!

giphy

After spending this past year alternating between temping and traveling around, I’m happy to have found a job in a creative environment in the city I love most: New York. Though I’ve had real jobs working at ABC and NBC in the past, this really feels like my first REAL job. I’ve never had a salary or benefits or any of that good stuff; broadcast news was always technically freelance and hourly…no bueno.

Oh, and another amazingly awesome perk of this job? UNLIMITED VACATION! Obviously not to be abused, but at least I can count on getting my fair share of traveling time in! Yayayyayay!

More fun news for today – I’ve been asked to write for a site called Tiplr. For all you adventure seekers and foodies, it’s a great site to get tips from locals in various cities around the world. Check out my first post — here.

That’s all for today folks –
